THE LATEST ADVANCEMENT IN THE COMPOSITE DECK CATEGORY IS THE CONCEPT OF A CAPPED BOARD.
Capped Composite decking boards are made essentially from wood particles and plastic that makes up the core. The core is then wrapped with an impervious layer of textured plastic (Surlyn Polymer). This impervious skin is likened to the layer that wraps around a golf ball.
The wood particle component can be anything from sawdust that can be ground to the consistency of flour, to wood fibre pieces. The plastic components can be either virgin or recycled plastic materials. The beauty of most composite boards, is that the majority of the product is recycled.
Why should you choose a capped composite decking board over a timber product or non-capped composite board and what are the benefits?
- HELPS TO PRESERVE OUR ENVIRONMENT.
- WE ARE USING RECYCLED MATERIAL WHICH WOULD OTHERWISE GO INTO LAND FILL.
- MINIMAL DECK MAINTENANCE REQUIRED, WHICH INCLUDES NO MORE OILING OR STAINING.
At Decking out Gold Coast we only use the following composite material due to their 25year limited warranty, their durable, low maintenance and an extensive range of colours.
