MOUNT MARTHA DECKING PROJECT

Award Wining Deck in Mount Martha – Limitless Creations 3rd Place

With only 4 days before the competition closing date, this stunning and inspiring project was completed in October 2014. The coastal village of Mount Martha, Melbourne Australia is the setting for this backyard oasis and it was a huge effort to have the job completed in time.

With the majority of plants and vegetation planted in the spring of last year it was felt that the Malaysian Hardwood, Merbau would best compliment the colourful landscape. Two sizes of deck and screening board were used, 90mm x 19mm and 140mm x 19mm. The sub structure and open pergola structures are a mixture of cypress gold and H3 treated pine.

To make the outdoor living area user friendly all year round a steel fire pit was installed with merbau lined seating constructed in an L shape around the pit. To help separate the main deck from the fire pit area several Italian granite pavers were installed with buffalo grass planted in between.

The installation of lighting throughout the project brought all the features to life and enhanced there beauty and character. Finally a poignant message was fitted to the rendered screen and now the transformation was complete.
