Award Wining Deck in Glen Iris – 3rd Place Unique Feature

Tucked away in the corner of this beautiful property in the leafy suburb of Glen Iris, Melbourne Australia is now a parents relaxing spa retreat. The project was completed in August 2014 with the Australian spring and summer just around the corner.
The client was looking for a tropical vibe with the decking material to compliment the landscaping design so 90mm x 19mm Malaysian Merbau was selected, placed onto a H3 treated pine sub structure. The Merbau material was also used to picture frame the screen which was decorated with custom made laser cut iron artwork.

Once the relaxation spa was dropped into place a frameless glass fence and gate was installed. The frameless fence is constructed of 12mm clear toughened glass clamped by 316 stainless steel spigots.

Along the bottom of the deck a secret door was installed so as to gain access to the spa pump and filtration equipment. To further enhance the look of the deck a series of flush fitting deck lights and artwork enhancing spotlights were fitted.
